I keep hearing the same little whisper in my head…
“What if I fail?”
What if I miss a day?
What if I run out of ideas?
What if it gets busy?
What if I start strong and fizzle out somewhere around Day 17?
And maybe you know that whisper too — the one that shows up right before you commit to something that actually matters to you.
So today I’m doing something about it.
I’m making a very public, very imperfect, joyfully experimental declaration:
✂️ I’m doing the 100 Day Project, starting February 22.
✂️ My project is called 60 Seconds in the Lab.
✂️ Every day I’ll share one tiny collage warm-up.
Not finished pieces.
Not masterpieces.
Not “content.”
Just practice. Play. Process. Reps.
Because here’s the reframe that changed everything for me:
You only “fail” at the 100 Day Project if you never begin.
Everything else is data.
Everything else is part of the experiment.
Everything else is real life.
Miss a day? You’re a human.
Change the format? You’re learning.
Stop at Day 37? You did 37 more days than you would have otherwise.
That’s not failure.
That’s a creative habit being built in real time.
Why say it out loud?
There is something powerful and a little bit magical about declaring your intention in front of other people.
Not because you need pressure.
Not because you need perfection.
But because:
💛 You become more likely to show up
💛 You find your people
💛 You turn a private wish into a lived experience
Accountability doesn’t have to be heavy.
Sometimes it’s just:
“Hey… I’m doing this thing.”
And suddenly you’re not alone.
Your turn (if you want it 💫)
You do not have to do 100 days.
You do not have to do collage.
You do not have to do anything the “right” way.
But what if you made a small creative declaration?
Something like:
- I’m going to make for 5 minutes a day
- I’m going to fill one sketchbook page a week
- I’m going to play with my supplies instead of saving them
- I’m going to try the 100 Day Project in my own way
Tell me your declaration.
Or post it publicly.
Or write it on a sticky note and put it by your workspace.
Just name the thing.
That’s how it becomes real.
What you’ll see from me
Starting February 22, I’ll be creating 60 Seconds in the Lab warm-ups. These tiny, doable, no-pressure collage exercises are designed to:
- get your hands moving
- build your creative muscle
- remove the fear of the blank page
- remind you that showing up counts
This isn’t about finishing.
It’s about beginning.
Again and again and again.
If the “what if I fail?” voice has been getting loud in your ear lately, consider this your permission slip:
You are allowed to do this imperfectly.
You are allowed to change your mind.
You are allowed to make it easy.
You are allowed to make it yours.
And you are very, very invited to do it alongside me.
So…
What’s your creative declaration?
